Biography – Colleen Wright

Colleen’s passion is helping people leverage the Internet to increase website visitors, leads and sales. As an educator in Internet marketing for the Search Engine Academy of Oregon, she gets energized when her students follow the guidelines taught in her classes and then experience visible proof of the power of Internet marketing.

Awards and Recognition

Colleen has held training classes in Internet Marketing since September 2007. She consistently receives high marks for the program from students and was recently awarded the #2 position on the Top 10 SEO Training programs list from TopSEOs.com for March 2009. This list includes training programs from the U.S., U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to this top honor, Colleen has been interviewed by the Oregonian, Portland Monthly and Digger Magazine regarding search engine optimization. She has been a speaker at events such as Searchfest and Business Leader NW and speaks at local trade associations such as Self Employed Creative Professionals and the Small Business Development Center.

Breadth and Depth in the Marketing Field

Colleen is an Oregon native and graduate of Portland State University with two Business Administration degrees in marketing and advertising management. Her career has spanned a variety of industries from banking and finance to seminar marketing, sports marketing, high tech, non-profit, commercial real estate and horticulture.

As an Internet marketing consultant and owner of Response Interactive LLC, she enjoys helping her diverse client base and students capture their target market through the power of the search engines and the strength of compelling content.

A Firm Believer in Continuing Education

Colleen received training in Search Engine Marketing from the Search Engine Academy run by John Alexander and Robin Nobles. As an associate of the Search Engine Academy she offers the same training in Oregon that she received from John Alexander and Robin Nobles.

Colleen is a member of the Education Committee at SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization), a member of the AMA (American Marketing Association) and SEMpdx (Search Engine Marketing Professionals of Portland). She attends local and national professional development events on a regular basis such as SMX Advanced; a conference on advanced search engine marketing.

Colleen designed her first website in 1997 for a clipart product series she developed while working at CompuPlants Nursery Management Software. The clip art series, GardenArtz Gardening Clipart was a bestseller for over 10 years in American Nurseryman Catalog.
